Notebook giving details on the building of Plas Wilmot on Edward Salter’s croft at Croes Wyllan 1829
OBHAG has recently funded the digitising by Oswestry Family & Local History Group of the Plas Wilmot notebook. This unique source, which records the building of Wilfred Owen’s birthplace by Edward Salter in 1829, is held by Oswestry Library.
Its digitisation means that it can now be viewed on the Library’s public-access computers without the need to handle the original. The 46-page document is available in three formats – Microsoft Word, PDF and JPEG. For further information about the Salters, see (under ‘Members’ Interests’) John Pryce-Jones’ notes for his 2017 AGM talk on the ancestry of Edward and Mary Salter.
